from www.dailymail.co.uk – Hustler porn baron Larry Flynt has been causing mass outrage yet again with a mobile advertising truck featuring live pole dancers.

The ‘Hustler Club Truck’ has been doing the rounds in San Francisco’s Sunset District, drumming up trade for the company’s nightclub in the city’s financial district.

Its route had taken it up to the corner of 37th Avenue and Balboa where it caused outrage among local residents, prompting a flood of complaints.

In response City Supervisor Eric Mar had the offensive vehicle towed away due to expired tags.

He told CBS Sacramento: ‘If you look inside there’s a pole so some women can dance around it, as this thing drives around the street,”

‘[The truck is] right by the Anza Branch Library and half a block from an elementary school.’

However the truck wasn’t off the road for long and soon reappeared on a new route which took it to 42nd and Geary.

Now Mr Mar is hoping to introduce a new city ordnance in the hope of having it off the road permanently.

He added: ‘We don’t want this truck in our neighborhood.’

However Mr Mar has picked a tough opponent in the Hustler owner.

Over the last three decades the staunch left-winger has fought a raft of legal battles regarding free speech.

Last year he offered an $1 million reward to anyone with proof of ‘an illicit sexual liaison’ involving Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry.

Los Angeles-based Larry Flynt Productions, which publishes Hustler, bought full-page advertisements in the weekly editions of the U.S. satirical tabloid The Onion and the Austin Chronicle, a Texas alternative paper, seeking evidence of any Perry peccadilloes.

In 1975 he published nude pictures of former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis sunbathing on holiday in 1971.

The pictures attracted widespread attention, and 1 million copies of the issue sold within a few days. Now a millionaire, Flynt bought a $375,000 mansion.

On 6 March 1978, during a legal battle related to obscenity in Georgia, Flynt and his local lawyer, Gene Reeves Junior, were shot by a sniper in an ambush near the county courthouse in Lawrenceville.

The attack left him partially paralyzed and wheelchair-bound, with permanent spinal cord damage.

White supremacist serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin confessed to the shootings many years later, claiming he was outraged by an interracial photo shoot in Hustler.
