from www.nfl.fanhouse.com – Lawrence Taylor was in New York courtroom Thursday where the Hall of Fame linebacker was reportedly ready to enter a guilty plea to lesser charges related to his arrest for felony statutory rape at the end on May.
In exchange for his plea to one count of soliciting a prostitute and another for sexual misconduct, ESPNNewYork.com is reporting that the the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office will recommend Taylor be given six years probation.
A spokeswoman for the D.A. declined comment Thursday afternoon. A message left with Arthur Aidala, Taylor’s attorney, was not immediately returned.
Taylor allegedly paid $300 for sex with a 16-year-old runaway at a Holiday Inn in Montebello, N.Y. The girl was allegedly forced into prostitution by Rasheed Davis, who later pleaded not guilty to sexual trafficking charges.
Taylor was charged with third-degree rape, patronizing a prostitute, sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, charges that could have brought four years in prison. He rejected a plea bargain previously that would have called for six months in jail.
