from www.courthousenews.com – A Dallas “Gentleman’s Club” manager claims Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Vince Young smashed him in the mouth because he refused to sell the “intoxicated” pro football player $8,000 in $1 tokens that Young wanted to use “to tip and throw money at the dancers who would entertain him and his party that evening.”
Creiton Joseph Kinchen seeks punitive damages from Young, for aggravated assault, in Dallas County Court.
Kinchen claims he was working in the “cage” at the Onyx Gentlemen’s Club in Dallas on June 12, 2010, when Young assaulted him.
“Creiton is a manager with varied responsibilities,” the complaint states.
“Creiton was working minding his own business in the ‘cage’ area dealing with an employee on credit card issues, when suddenly and without provovation, an intoxicated Vince Young began cursing and making derogatory remarks to Creiton because Creiton refused to sell Vince Young $8,000.00 (eight thousand dollars) in $1.00 (one dollar denominations) using Vince Young’s credit card.
It was Vince Young’s intention to use the $1.00 bills to tip and throw money at the cagers who would entertain him and his party that evening.
Vince Young after exchanging remarks with Creiton lunged forward and struck Creiton with a closed fist in the mouth, busting his lip, causing pain and swelling. Creiton also fell back on the desk with Vince Young continuing his attack on Creiton. As a result, Creiton also suffered pain and swelling to his neck. In the process other employees were injured and or struck by Vince Young.”
Creiton seeks damages for aggravated assault, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
On the negligence claim, he says that “Vince Young knew or through the exercise of ordinary care should have know[n] that given his history of violence, Vince Young had a tendency toward violence. Vince Young was negligent in failing to exercise proper care in his consumption of alcohol and arriving at Onyx intoxicated.”
Creiton is represented by Luis Roberto Vera Jr. of San Antonio.
The Eagles list Young as 6 feet 5 inches tall and 233 lbs.
