Lincoln Park Ministers Oppose Hustler Club Opening

ANN ARBOR, MI – from www.publicbroadcasting.net – A group of ministers is fighting the opening of a strip club in Lincoln Park.

Three Lincoln Park clergymen delivered more than a thousand letters from parishioners to the State Liquor Control Commission Wednesday.

They want the commission to deny a liquor license to Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club, which is ready to open in Lincoln Park.

Dr. Russell Bone is a minister at the Lincoln Park Church of Christ.
He says the club is close to three churches and a school bus stop.

“The sign says stop for school bus loading and unloading, and in the background you can see the Hustler club within about 300 feet,” Bone says.

Bone says clergy and parishioners worry about increased drugs and prostitution in the area.
