Jefferson City, Missouri – from www.kansascity.com – Restrictions on adult-entertainment businesses that became law last Saturday will remain in effect following a ruling today by a Missouri appeals court.
Business owners had sought to delay enforcement of the laws while they pursue a lawsuit challenging their constitutionality.
That delay was rejected today by the Western District Court of Appeals, upholding a ruling by the circuit court here last week.
Among the provisions in the law are bans on alcohol and total nudity, distance requirements between dancers and patrons, restricted hours of operation and regulations for video-viewing rooms.
Dick Bryant, an attorney for several adult businesses, said he and his clients were “reviewing options” on how to proceed.
