A leggy brunette model sobbed in court yesterday as she told jurors how her then-boyfriend beat her black and blue and threatened to kill her in a six-hour siege in their Central Park West apartment.Angela Hill said through her tears that aspiring actor Carlos Leiva erupted in March 2004 after reading text messages from another boyfriend on her cell phone as she slept.
Hill, whose dangling silver earrings swayed as she spoke, said that when Leiva put a kitchen knife to her throat and demanded that she strip, she complied.
“Then he told me that he was a drug dealer and he was in the Mafia and he was going to kill my family,” she said. She quoted him as saying: “‘I’m not going to let you go. I’m going to kill you, you stupid b—-!'”
Hill, who had a bit part in Spike Lee’s movie “She Hate Me,” said Leiva tied up her arms twice, but she got loose and ultimately fled, naked and screaming, to a neighbor’s apartment.
Leiva, who is charged with kidnapping and assault, sat at the defense table in Manhattan Supreme Court with a dismissive smirk for much of Hill’s testimony, which took most of the day.
Prosecutors said Leiva admitted to cops that he grabbed, pushed and restrained Hill, but he insists he was too drunk and drugged up on Champagne, Margaritas, beer, Xanax and cocaine to know what he was doing.
Prosecutors were unable to persuade a judge to let jurors know about Leiva’s prior history with girlfriends: an alleged attack in 1986 on his former fiancée that got him tossed from the Police Academy; a 1996 shoving match that injured the mother of his young son, and a 2002 encounter where he allegedly hit a girlfriend with his belt and gave her a black eye.
He was not charged in any of those incidents.
