NEW YORK – from www.cbsnews.com – Action film star Steven Segal is being sued for sexual harassment and human trafficking by former model Kayden Nguyen who claims he treated her as a “sex toy.”
According to court documents obtained by CBS News, the 23-year-old was hired by Segal last February as an executive assistant at his production company. But she says on the first day on the job, she learned that she was actually signed up to replace one of the two Russian female “attendants” on staff as Seagal’s sexual servants, available for his sexual needs 24/7.
Nguyen claims in her lawsuit that on three occasions Seagal “sexually assaulted” her with forced contact or groping.
The 58-year-old actor, best known for his martial-arts moves in films such as “Under Siege” and “Exit Wounds,” responded to the lawsuit through his lawyer.
“The lawsuit filed by Kayden Nguyen against Steven Seagal is a ridiculous and absurd claim by a disgruntled ex-employee who was fired for using illegal narcotics,” Seagal’s lawyer, Marty Singer said to TMZ.
Seagal is being sued for sexual harassment, illegal trafficking of females for sex, failure to prevent sexual harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination and false representation about employment.
Nguyen claims she was kept against her will for six days at a secluded Louisiana home where Seagal and his family were allegedly staying. When she finally escaped, she claims Seagal chased after her with a “flashlight with a gun attached to it.”
Nguyen’s lawyer, William Waldo, told CBS News’ Crimesider that Nguyen did not call police because she believed they would listen only to Seagal.
“Mr. Seagal is the police,” he said. “She is in a remote area of Jefferson Parish. It is in the middle of nowhere and he is the police.”
In addition to his film career, Seagal is a commissioned deputy in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s department. His cable show, “Steve Seagal Lawman,” follows his adventures.
Seagal’s lawyer, Marty Singer, did not respond to a request for comment at press time.
from www.courthousenews.com – LOS ANGELES – A former model who thought she was hired to be the executive assistant to actor Steven Seagal says she was treated like his “sex toy” and kept in his secluded Louisiana home against her will for six days. When Kayden Nguyen finally escaped, she says Seagal chased her down with a “flashlight with a gun attached to it.”
Nguyen says in Superior Court that she was hired last February as Segal’s executive assistant. That same day, she says she learned that she was actually intended to replace one of two Russian “attendants” who were on staff to serve Seagal’s sexual needs around the clock.
She says Seagal demanded a “massage,” and then sexually attacked her.
Nguyen says she complained the next morning, but nothing was done in order to “keep the star happy.”
Hours after complaining, she says Seagal came back for more, forcing her legs apart and shoving his hands down her pants.
She also says she was forced to take illegal pills before she was allowed to get away from him.
She says in order to escape, she had to convince Seagal that her family would wonder about her safety if she didn’t meet up with them.
She says when a cab finally arrived, she was in “such fear for her personal safety” that she left behind everything of value she owned, including her car keys, a laptop, clothes and “hundreds of dollars worth of makeup.”
Nguyen says she later refused to sign a release promising not to sue for the alleged sexual assault, and was told that she couldn’t get her stuff back until she did so.
She accuses Seagall of sexual harassment, illegal trafficking of females for sex, retaliation and other offenses. She seeks at least $1 million in damages.
She is represented by William Waldo with Bonini Law Group.
