Porn Valley- Former adult film star, Heather Hunter, is crossing over into the music business — hip-hop in particular. Going under the alias “Double H,” Hunter is coming in full force, letting the world know that she is more than a pretty face.
“People know me for many different things,” Hunter explains, “but they really don’t know all of me. On this album, people get to find out what really makes me Double H.”
On her debut album titled The Unexpected, the female emcee can boast production from A-list producers DJ Premier and Scott Storch, as well as a guest appearance from Wyclef Jean.
As Hunter prepares for her release, the lead single “So Serious” is beginning to pick up in different areas of the nation, and is receiving “great response,” according to her longtime manager, David Copeland. A video has already been shot for the single, where Wyclef Jean and Akineleye both make a cameo appearances.
Hunter entered the adult industry in 1988 and set standards in the industry after being the first African American to sign a contract with giant Vivid Pictures. Although she stopped performing in the late ’90s, her movies, almost all on the Vivid label, are still sought after by fans.
Recognized by her loyal cult of fans and referenced in songs by heavy-weight rappers like Lil Kim, LL Cool J, and Snoop Dogg, as well as collaborating with the late Tupac Shakur, “Double H” has lent a strong hand in smashing taboos and leading the charge of sexual liberation.
“I never really thought about it when I was [making adult films].” Heather admits. “I just knew what I wanted to do and made it happen. That’s just how I am.”
The Unexpected is expected to hit stores this summer on Blo Records.
