The LAPD has been dropping off these notices to residences in the Valley. Under a Community Watch heading, they read as follows:

“Did you know that the San Fernando Valley is the pornography filming capital of the world? That is not exactly a distinction that we enjoy. What will you do if someone were filming an adult movie next to your home?

“All filming in the city of Los Angeles is regulated by Film LA. Film LA can be reached via the internet at www.filmla.com or by telephone at 213-977-8600.

“You can find out if a permit to film has been issued, what the restrictions are and what recourse you have if the conditions are violated. If the filming is causing a disturbance, you can call the police, and we will investigate.”

Then it gives a dispatch number that people can call to rat out a shoot.
