Who murdered the pig farmer J.P. Lipson the financier who had sued New Frontier Media and was awarded $800,000 in a court settlement as a result?
Was it Lipson’s Russian bride Eleonora Iordanova Igova a woman 21 years his junior? The police seemed to think so when they arrested Igova near the scene of the crime back on March 14, 2008 when Lipson [he actually had been a pig farmer at one time according to one website] was found dead, in his house, of multiple gunshot wounds. Lipson lived on the 9900 block of Durant Drive in Beverly Hills.
Igova was originally held on a million dollars bail and her trial was last month. Funny thing, none of the LA media covered it- and it’s even stranger when you consider that Lipson, who sought ownership of New Frontier Media was reputed to have been worth over $500 million dollars. So this was a high profile case with Igova retaining a very high profile attorney.
In any event, the jury in Igova’s trial found her not guilty on first degree murder and was hung 7-5 for acquittal on second degree murder. As of a ruling this week there will be a new trial. The DA has refiled charges. Igova will be back in court on 5/14/09 for a pre-trial hearing. Her bail now remains at 2 million dollars and she is still in custody.
Igova’s attorney is Joel Isaacson, the lawyer who has represented such high profile clients as Max Factor heir Andrew Luster, Erin Brockovich’s ex-husband Shawn Brown, and LAPD Rampart Corruption Scandal Police Officer Paul Harper, among others.
