BOISE, Idaho – The owner of a Boise strip club charged with owning a prostitution ring has a prior conviction for homicide.

Chris Teague appeared in a Boise courtroom this past week to be arraigned on four charges of accepting the earnings of a prostitute. The proceedings revealed the homicide conviction in North Carolina in 1986.

Teague’s bond was set at $250,000 on the felony charges.

Boise Police began its investigation in April, and officers say Teague was making $700 per week on the prostitution ring – about $50 per show from four female prostitutes.

Court proceedings revealed that the going rate per session was $310.

Officers believe Teague was using some of his dancers at his two strip clubs to work the escort business. Police say that business – AAA Anytime Escort Services – was a front for prostitution.

In court last Thursday, the prosecutor told the judge the criminal investigation into this case started eight months ago when a police informant went undercover and applied for a job with Teague. Since then four escorts have been working with police.

Their names are not being released because they claim they are scared of Teague.

“Police had a confidential informant who was willing to take off her clothes to apply for a job with Mr. Teague because that’s what we knew he required girls to do. She did that and he made some incriminating statements to her after she’d taken her clothes off,” said Jonathan Medema, Ada County prosecuting attorney.

Medema expects more girls to come forward as the investigation continues.

Even though prostitution is illegal in Idaho, none of the women involved in this case have been charged.

Teague owns two strip clubs – Erotic City on Overland Road, and Night Moves on State Street – both in Boise. He gained national attention in February 2005 for starting “art night” at the Overland club in an attempt to skirt Boise’s nudity ordinance rules. The club gave patrons pencils and paper to sketch female dancers in the nude.
