Nikki Benz comments about the severing of her TeraVision contract on adulthearsay.com: Well, they severed my contract without giving me any notice or reason. Their reason was actually that it was mutual, but it wasn’t. However, at the same time, I was unhappy with them for the longest time, so I was going to quit anyway. It just happened that they beat me to the punch. The day that they fired me was actually the day I asked my attorney to place a phone call for me to them, because for two weeks everybody at Teravision had been ignoring me, and not letting me know what’s going on. I had a big convention to attend to with them, Exotica Miami Beach.
So basically, June 6 was basically the day they severed my contract, but it was also the day that I called my attorney and said, “You know, I’ve been having a lot of problems with Evan Seinfeld, who is the CEO of Teravision, and also Tera’s husband. Like, my paychecks are not on time, he’s very disorganized to the point where I would book a dance gig, a feature dance gig, and I would have to call Evan for approval, and he’ll approve a date for me. And I’ll be on the road like in New York, I’ll get a phone call from him saying, ‘You have a shoot today. You have a shoot tomorrow.’ And I’m like, ‘Evan, I’m not in town. You approved me being here right now, and you’re asking me to do what. I don’t understand.
So it was very disorganized and I was fed up. I was very unhappy and depressed being with them. I didn’t feel they treated me well. And I called my attorney and said, “Look, it’s two days before this convention. I have my suitcases out, and I bought outfits for this convention. I don’t know what to do. I’ve called Evan and Tera. I emailed them and they are all ignoring me. I don’t know what to do.” And my attorney’s like, “OK, let me call him.” So my attorney calls Evan and Evan picks up the phone, even though he’s been ignoring me for two weeks. But he picks up the phone and my attorney is like, “I’m calling on behalf of Nikki Benz. She’d like to know the situation with you guys and what’s happening with the convention.” And Evan was like, “Call me back, I’m on the road.”
So my attorney was basically planning to call him back. And in the meantime, my attorney got a fax from Evan’s attorney saying that they’re severing my contract based on mutual decisions between me and Evan. Well, me and Evan never spoke. There was nothing mutual about that. So I feel like that they totally dumped me inappropriately. They didn’t follow they’re contract at all. They gave me no notice or reason. And, you know, I didn’t appreciate being treated like that. I don’t think it was fair. And I don’t wish this upon anybody else because I wasn’t financially or like emotionally prepared for it. And when I say financially prepared is that, they fired me on June 6. They still owe me money for the month of May. And obviously I was expecting that paycheck and I was also expecting my next paycheck for the month of June.
“They fire me and they also stated they owe me no money, even though they do, and I have the paperwork to prove it. But they owe me money for the month of May. And they owe me money for other appearances I made on behalf of Teravision. According to our contract, they’re supposed to give me this money and they’re flat out refusing to pay me the money. So, you know, yes it was a blessing in disguise that I’m no longer with them because I’m so much, just . . . I don’t have that stress around me. I’m very relieved because I was seriously really unhappy. It got to the point where I was like depressed, because I didn’t appreciate being treated like a nobody. I’m your contract girl; treat me properly because in my head I was proud to be with them. I was proud to represent them. And I had all these creative ideas that I wanted to contribute to Teravision and they just didn’t give me that chance. They treated me badly. Does that answer your question? That’s kind of the short version of it. [Laughs] I know it was long. That’s the short version of it. I was unhappy, and they fired me but they lied. They said it was mutual and it wasn’t.”
