from www.stltoday.com – One man was killed and another wounded in a Wednesday morning shooting outside the Peek-A-Boo Lounge nightclub, Illinois State Police said.
Shontez Ellis Jr., 19, of Washington Park was killed in the 3 a.m. shooting outside the club at 118 South 3rd Street. The other victim is being treated for his injuries.
The two men were shot as they stood in front of the club.
Police are searching for the shooter, who left the scene in a gold Ford Taurus with Illinois license plate number L357 411.

Brooklyn’s virtually only industry is that of adult entertainment, with at least three strip clubs along Route 3. An adult bookstore in Brooklyn was destroyed by fire in September. Sales tax revenue has long been the village’s top source of revenue.
Other incidents of violence at Brooklyn nightclubs include:
· The fatal shooting of Dion Hardin, 22, of Brooklyn, on Sept. 22, 2009, as he left the Peek-A-Boo club.
· The deadly shooting of Amos Blanchard, 35, inside the Pink Slip nightclub, 114 South Fourth Street, also on Aug. 23, 2009.
· A woman, 24, was shot to death and a man, 28 wounded Aug. 4, 2009, as they left the Pink Slip nightclub, 114 South Fourth Street.
· Russell Hollis Jr., 28, of Belleville, was found dead Feb. 17, 2008, inside the driver’s seat of his Chevrolet about a half block from the Pink Slip. Police said he had just left the club.
· On April 16, 2005, Dejuan C. Johnson, 29, of University City, was fatally shot after a fight at the Pink Slip in Brooklyn.
· In 1985, Steven Gerstenecker of Troy, Ill., was fatally stabbed after leaving Roxy’s nightclub in Brooklyn.
