Porn Valley- XXX writes: With recent advancements in DVD technology, the rise of the Blue Disk is accelerating quickly. More and more adult movie manufacturers are replicating their own DVDs in-house or through short-run companies that are starting to pop-up all over the place. Don’t look now but movies produced on DVD-R or more commonly know as Blue Disks are coming your way fast. In fact, they probably already have!

More and more companies are using DVD-R as a way to revive older titles and cut costs. And some pretty well known studios have been shipping their movies this way for some time now. While some avoid these Blue Disks like the plague, those that embrace the format have experienced few problems. Christopher J. Lucy, a business analyst from Voxman Entertainment Marketing finds the defective and return rates for his company’s clients have been no worse for DVD-R movies than those replicated the old way.

Mr. Lucy observes, “I am surprised it has taken the industry this long to embrace the technology. After all, with minimum runs of 2,500 DVDs from replication houses, few defectives, and comparable cost, this relatively new means of producing DVDs is sure to explode. As the word gets out how reliable the Blue Disk really is you will see more and more adult companies jumping on-board.”

Sure there will be some that poo-poo the Blue Disk stating their customers (the end user) will reject the format and swamp the store with returns. “But that just isn’t the reality” cites Mr. Lucy. “Hundreds of thousands of these DVD-R movies have already been sold and most people can’t tell the difference.” If the end user can’t tell the difference when playing the movie (and the response so far has been extremely positive) then what is stopping this movement from exploding? The answer is “Nothing but the perception.” Cites Lucy. “And that negative perception is changing fast.”
