Porn peddlers make a fortune on Google crash; Google Hacked?

[itexaminer.com]- Porn peddlers rushed to make a swift buck or two out of Gmail crashing on Tuesday.

A Gmail user group titled ‘Gmail Down’ was created so that anyone who tried to search for information on the email crash was directed to sex sites.

Other tricks related to domain names were also used as frantic Gmail users looked for a reason to why they could not get their email in what has been dubbed Gfail.

Gmail was down at around 9.30am GMT and remained inoperative for two-and-a-half hours, but it was long enough for spammers and porn peddlers to sweep into action. The service was disrupted for an estimated 113 million users in Europe, Asia, the US and elsewhere.

Google deleted the group for a while, however according to Techcrunch you can still see it, if you really want. The dark satanic rumour mill claims that Google was hacked, probably by the pornographers, in a bid to earn cash. Google said it is investigating all the claims.
