VAN NUYS, Calif.— After AVN reported that Samantha Lewis, one of the top female executives in the adult entertainment industry, was no longer the CEO of Digital Playground after the Manwin buyout, Lewis called AVN with a clarification.

Lewis says she was never a Manwin employee. “I sold the company to Manwin,” Lewis said. But Lewis also said she was unable to comment on the terms of the agreement, nor did she want to get into any agreements that she might have personally entered into with Manwin.

Lewis dis say she was excited about this acquisition and will remain available to advise Manwin/DP on anything they need and will help advise them to make the sale a seamless transition.

Whatever Lewis’ role in Manwin/DP is from now on, it was confirmed that head of Jewelbox Films, Kay Brandt, and Farley Cahen, DP’s chief operating officer were let go.

Lewis’ two sisters, who both worked in DVD sales, also were let go by Manwin.

However Manwin says it has no plans to reduce its contract roster, but to expand it, according to Kate Miller, Manwin’s Director of Communications.

“We believe our exclusive contract stars are some of the best in the world and look forward to working with them in the coming years.”

Meanwhile Rob Black Productions (www.robblackproductions.com) took the opportunity to formally extend an offer of employment to Lewis.

“Samantha helped revolutionize the business, much like our company owner Rob Black,” said the company in tendering the offer.

Samantha was recent released from her employment with her former company after it was bought out, and we know that times are tough and we hate to see a talented woman down on her luck. I heard Lewis walked away from the deal with mucho dinero so I doubt whether she’s down on her luck.
