Florida- www.orlandosentinel.com- A man in a “Top Gun” T-shirt walked into a Polk County convenience store to buy a cookie, giving the clerks a flash of what he was packing under his belt – and it wasn’t a gun.
Deputies say Anthony Hays Roberts, 26, has exposed himself on three separate occasions at a Circle K store in Polk City. On Friday, Roberts was charged with three misdemeanor counts of exposure of sexual organ.
Surveillance recordings released by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office this morning shows Roberts and his unzipped shorts as he walked into the convenience store on North Commonwealth Avenue on Tuesday.
Sheriff’s reports state the suspect walked into the store at 5:14 a.m. to buy a cookie, but didn’t have enough cash. He returned to his vehicle to get money, walked back into the store and made his purchase.
Video shows the man’s sexual organs were out during the time he spent at the store.
Employees told deputies the man had shown them his goods twice in March.
On Thursday, Roberts visited the store and purchased a newspaper. He did not expose himself, but the clerk recognized him as the suspect in the earlier incidents and was able to get a detailed description of the blue Jeep Cherokee Roberts drove.
At about 6:40 a.m. today, deputies in Polk County spotted the vehicle at a home on Fred Court. Roberts answered the door and admitted to being the person in question.
Roberts gave the clothes he was wearing on Tuesday to the deputy. He reportedly told the deputy his zipper was broken and he was unaware he was exposing himself.
Reached by phone this afternoon, Roberts told a Sentinel reporter: “I’m not going to comment. Don’t call no more, please.”
