What with all the allegations, moratoriums and mandates; and the other mud-slinging going on in the adult entertainment world this week, it was easy to overlook a significant story that affects the future of one of porn’s largest companies, Private Media Group.

The company made a significant name for itself in the late 1990s and early 2000s and landed on NASDAQ by staging big-budget skin flicks in exotic locales, such as Egypt and Rio de Janeiro.

In 2002 Forbes Global named Private to its list of top 200 small companies around the world. Private went on to produce x-rated DVD hits like “Private Gladiator,” which sold 325,000 copies—huge for the porn business.
