Similar to the Karen Fletcher “Red Rose” Case: Man charged over Girls Aloud ‘porn murder blog’

UK- A civil servant who posted a blog in which he allegedly describes the kidnap, rape and murder of pop group Girls Aloud is being prosecuted.

Darryn Walker, 35, is accused of posting a 12-page story called Girls (Scream) Aloud on a porn website.

The story allegedly details the kidnap, mutilation, rape and murder of band members Nadine Coyle, Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh.

He is being prosecuted under the Obscene Publications Act.

It is one of the few times the Act has been used for written words since Penguin’s 1960 prosecution over Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

Details of the blog came to light after the Internet Watch Foundation was alerted to it.

Scotland Yard’s Obscene Publications Unit brought the case after discussions with the Crown Prosecution Service.

Walker, of South Shields, is due to appear in Newcastle crown court in coming weeks charged with publication of an obscene article.
