NEW YORK — Pink Visual, which sued Slutload.com last December over allegedly infringing on 53 of its films, has settled its case with the tube site’s operator.
Slutload.com which operates the site out of Canada, had another suit foiled against them by Private Media Group over similar infringement claims. In February, Slutload and Private settled their case for an unspecified amount, according to a story reported by www.xbiz.com
In the Pink Visual case, Allison Vivas said that the settlement’s terms will remain confidential. However Slutload agreed to adopt and employ digital fingerprint filtering technology offered through the Free Speech Coalition’s Anti-Piracy Action Plan, or APAP.
“We’re serious about enforcing our intellectual property rights, and we’re equally serious about carrying out that enforcement in a way that produces a benefit to the industry as a whole,” Vivas said.
“For all producers already taking part in APAP, whether they are using the program as a means to identify and remove infringing content, or for the traffic monetization component, as soon as slutload.com finishes integrating the filtering on their end, these studios will benefit, automatically, without so much as lifting a finger.”
Slutload.com, which has an Alex traffic rank of 416, is one of the highest-ranking websites. According to Private’s suit, Slutload has 5 million U.S.-based surfers each month that generate “million of dollars in annual revenue” from advertisements others place on the site.
