Porn Valley – After a four-year relationship that has successfully weathered the porn industry, Jay Ashley and Aurora Snow [www.aurorasnowxxx.com] decided Wednesday night in the pouring rain that they could weather one another, just as well. Speaking on behalf of Snow who’s probably still in shock, Ashley said they haven’t announced a wedding date as yet.
“We’ve been through a lot,” said Ashley. “She put up with me through a lot of things. I was patient with her on other things. We tried taking time apart from one another to see if we were what we really wanted. We realized that we could survive without each other but realized we couldn’t truly live without each other. Surviving and living are two different things.”
Ashley said he waited for the rainiest day that he could find. “She’s a rainy day person and we went for drive at night down to Topanga Beach. We were walking on the beach and I proposed. It couldn’t have been more perfect. She’s my baby doll and I don’t want to lose her.”
Ashley said both he and Snow tend to seek out inclement weather and go for walks in the rain together. “When it starts to rain usually we’ll stop whatever we’re doing just so we can go for a walk in the rain. Both of us had that in common.” Ashley said he was very insistent Wednesday night about taking a drive no matter what. “It was surprise to her. She was all talking and we were having this big conversation. Then all of a sudden, with all her education, it went down to one word that she kept repeating- “wow”- she didn’t know what to say. She’s still in that state.”
Ashley said the fact they’ve been together four years pretty much tells them it’s for real. “Neither one of us are going anywhere,” Ashley said. “As of last night the discussion when we were driving back from the beach was what type of wedding are we going to have? We know it’s going to happen. We don’t know when. Right now we’re just happy being together and letting things happen.”
Ashley and Snow first met on a Luc Wylder shoot in San Francisco four years. “We met at the airport,” Ashley recalls. “It was very interesting because I’m walking up to the airport. I see this girl sitting there reading a book. I look at her and go, hey, how are you doing. She just looked up, she goes hi and she went back down to her book. I’m thinking, oh my God, this chick is going to be fucking brilliant. Next thing we’re rooming together. We started talking.”
Asked how they got paired off in such an avant-garde way, Ashley said Wylder asked if they didn’t mind sharing a room. “Chance had it through no manipulation at all that we roomed together,” said Ashley. “While we were there we clicked really well so when we came back from the trip we started dating. We’ve been inseparable ever since. While we were there we were in separate beds.” According to Ashley, the ice breaker is when Snow came over and joined him, at his request, in his bed. “It was non-sexual. We were sleep partners.” [Please, no Michael Jackson jokes.]
Ashley said for the first two weeks they dated he and Snow didn’t touch one another. “We were hanging out and being cool. Normally it’s about sex but we actually wanted each other’s company more than sex at the time.”
During the course of their relationship, Ashley estimates that he and Snow have probably shoot at least 50 scenes together. “In our career, the best scenes of our career are with each other. We’ve kicked out some good stuff. It’s been a long haul but we realize we’re in it together.”
