Sound Familiar? Strip Club Owners To Fight Ban On Full Nudity, Touching

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. — The Prince George’s County council approved a measure that would limit full nudity, touching and tipping in the county’s estimated 200 strip clubs.

The legislation also requires strip club owners and their managers to be licensed, and adult entertainment businesses would have to remain closed betwen 2:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Violators would face criminal penalties.

The bill is awaiting County Executive Jack Johnson’s signature.

The council approved the bill Tuesday despite objections by a lawyer, a strip club owner and an academic. They said the legislation would restrict free expression and wouldn’t hold up under legal scrutiny.

Club owners say they’ll ask the courts to block the law.

The strip club measures gained major support following a triple murder outside the Stardust strip club in Landover Hills in April.
