Splitsville for Electra, Navarro

NYC- IT’S splitsville for celebrity sexpot Carmen Electra and her rock star husband, guitarist Dave Navarro.

The camera-ready couple – who said their “I do’s” on an MTV reality show, ” ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Carmen & Dave,” back in 2003 – finally confirmed rampant rumors about the end of their marriage yesterday.

“Carmen and Dave have amicably split,” their rep told Life & Style magazine. The weekly’s source claims Navarro has been “practically living with his girlfriend of five months, socialite Sarah Howard,” even though he and Electra continued to pretend to be together at public outings.

“Carmen is so focused on her career, she doesn’t even care,” the source continued. “Dave told Sarah it’s totally over between him and Carmen.”

Navarro told the magazine last March that making the marriage work wasn’t always easy. “The truth is, we definitely work quite a bit,” he said at the time. “Our work takes us away from home quite a bit. She goes overseas, and there are times when I’m away from her. It sucks, I will say that.”

Electra, 34, endured a stormy marriage to NBA star Dennis Rodman from 1998 to 1999. The former Playboy Playmate and “Baywatch” babe has dated a long list of bad boys, starting with Prince, who had her change her name from Tara Patrick when she was a teenager, and also including Tommy Lee, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit and B-Real of Cypress Hill.

Navarro, 39, has been a member of Jane’s Addiction and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. While he still plays with L.A. glam rock supergroup Camp Freddy and Panic Channel with former Jane’s alumni Stephen Perkins and Chris Chaney, Navarro seems to crave the limelight of TV celebrity more than the concert stage these days.

He was a judge on CBS’ “Rock Star: INXS” and can currently be seen on its sequel, “Rock Star: Supernova,” which seeks to find a singer to join an all-star band featuring Navarro, Tommy Lee, former Metallica bassist Jason Newsted and ex-Guns N’ Roses member Gilby Clark.

In 2004, Navarro published his autobiography, “Don’t Try This at Home,” which focused on his heroin addiction during one debauched year in his Hollywood Hills party pad, which seemed infested with strippers, drug dealers and wayward celebrities at all times. He has since kicked drugs.
