Status of the Internet Gambling Bill

H.R. 4411 know as the Internet Gambling Prohibition and Enforcement Act was designed to prevent the use of certain payment instruments, credit cards, and fund transfers for unlawful Internet gambling, and for other purposes.

The bill was introduced Nov 18, 2005 and sponsored Rep. James Leach [R-IA- pictured]. It had 35 co-sponsors. The bill passed in the House of Representatives by roll call vote on July 11, 2006. The totals were: 317 Ayes, 93 Nays, 22 Present/Not Voting.
