Study: Women catching up to men in checking out porn

PHOENIX — from www.abc15.com – It seems women are catching up to men when it comes to visual stimulation in the bedroom; more women are checking out porn.

According to recent Nielsen NetRatings, 1 in 3 visitors to adult entertainment websites was female.

Michael Ham with Fascinations adult shops in the Valley told ABC15 he’s seen more women visiting his stores in recent years.

In fact he says more than half of his customers are women. He says a lot of women are buying adult DVDs.

“There are also more women creating products geared toward women like films and personal lubricants,” Ham said.

Ham added that sales are actually up because of the economy. He said more people are staying home and renting adult videos so they can connect with their loved one.

Experts say the study may show science is finally buying into the idea that women are at least as stimulated by porn as men.
