CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Takedown Piracy owner Nate Glass has become a regular contributor to AVN Magazine. With two published feature articles in the adult news magazine under Glass’ belt, and another appearing in the upcoming October issue of AVN, the anti-piracy expert is becoming a staple in the magazine.

His monthly columns provide insightful business news regarding digital content protection for the adult industry to absorb and learn from. Glass’ debut article in August provided an overview of piracy, while the September article revealed Google’s role in online piracy. Through humor and accessible rhetoric, Glass explores issues every owner of digital content should know.

AVN Managing Editor Steve Javors says, “Nate’s articles have quickly become a must-read for all industry professionals. With piracy affecting the industry in such a big way, the sharing of information is vital to create an organized and effective front against those who wish to rip off content producers’ hard work. Piracy is a daily battle and it’s important to stay vigilant and armed with the latest tactics to combat it. Nate’s strategy against online piracy has proven to be powerful, and we’re happy to provide a platform for him to share his expertise with our readers.”

“It’s an honor to contribute to the adult industry’s most trusted and visible news source,” states Nate Glass.

“AVN provides an unparalleled stage from which to help spread the word about piracy and how to protect content. Knowledge is power, and my desire to educate digital content producers regarding all the tricks pirates will use against them. Each month will examine new topics, like October’s look at how Twitter is utilized for copyright infringements and how to safeguard against it.”

While Glass started Takedown Piracy two years ago, it wasn’t until November 2010 he was able to turn it into a full-time venture. Since then, the DMCA notices sent out on any one of TDP’s clients increased by 400% monthly. Glass restructured and enhanced TDP to increase performance, activity and awareness. TDP monitors leading piracy culprits, providing clients with monthly breakdowns on its success. As the company grows, so does its resources and resolve to protect clients’ content. To date, TDP has removed nearly 4 million copyright infringements for its clients.

Among the many attributes separating Takedown Piracy from its competitors is its new custom tool, the Aikido Program, which is now running on a separate server as well. The progressive tool is capable of removing 100,000 copyright infringements in only 24-hours. The Aikido Program is exclusive to TDP and uses a PHP script to exploit a large piracy aggregation site. It takes a site meant to assist illegal downloads and transforms it into a valuable asset in anti-piracy. True to its martial art namesake, the Aikido Program uses the strength of its opponent to its own advantage.

Wanting to better involve the fans of Takedown Piracy’s numerous artist clients, the company created a tips page. Millions of additional eyes provide Takedown Piracy with an army seeking out illegal downloads on torrent, tube and cyberlocker sites. Users are asked to report the copyright owner and a link to the infringement.
