Hightstown, NJ/Van Nuys, CA — Who knew that Pleasure Productions’ Tera Wray could give lip service about sex advice as good as her oral performances in her movies. But that’s what she did on Friday morning during the debut of her live radio call-in show, “Porn Flakes.”
Following a nearly all-night party at the XRCO Awards in Forbidden City, Tera phoned into the Richmond, VA, radio station and answered listeners’ questions about relationships and life in the adult entertainment industry.
“After her performance, all the sex experts in the world should retire,” said Sludge, the host of WDYL-FM’s The Morning Sludge AM drive-time program.
“The show was great,” said Dash, the show’s producer. “Listeners are going to have to call in before 8:30am now if they want to get on, because all the phone lines were full!”
The Morning Sludge can be heard daily from 6am-10am EST on Y101, with Tera’s segment scheduled to air between 8:30-8:45am EST. The show is also broadcast live over the World Wide Web (www.y101rocks.com), so anyone with an internet connection can listen, phone in, and speak with Tera.
“I wanna know why girls always get mad at me for watchin’ pornos,” asked JT from the Southside. “Usually it’s because they’re very uncomfortable with themselves,” said Tera. “It’s about confidence.” She then asked JT if he did this with all the girls he dated. He said no, but he’s been seeing someone for about five years and her attitude hasn’t changed. “You have to talk her up,” Tera explained. “You have to make it seem like you’re more into her than the porn.”
Jeff, another listener call-in, asked, “In the porn industry you’re paid to have sex, but after business is done do you go back to the hotels and continue to go at it?” Tera said it all depends on the chemistry. “Like my good friend Tommy Gunn,” Tera quipped. “He definitely loves his job!”
“I’m sure all of our listeners will come again and again for Tera’s advice,” said show co-host Special Ed, who celebrated his birthday on air with a surprise phone call from his mother (“He’s single and he’s so cute”). “My dad thinks I’m gay,” said Ed, “and my mom just wants me to get married and make some grandkids.” Ed took the opportunity to ask Tera to help him relieve some of this pressure from his mom about settling down and having kids. “You’re totally asking the wrong person for that type of advice,” said Tera, laughing. “I’m definitely not the one you want to take home to mom.”
Tera also offered Sludge some help, after he told a story about a recent dinner date during which the girl said, “this isn’t a date, and you’re not getting any sex tonight.” “Wasn’t that a sudden hit of blue balls when she said that,” asked Tera, adding there was no reason he shouldn’t ask that girl out again. “If you played it cool,” she said, “why not?”
The show ended with a call from Jay from Chesterfield, who asked how he could become a performer in an adult movie. “I get this question more than any other – on MySpace or when I meet people,” said Tera. “But, I really, honestly, can’t tell you. I can tell you it’s the hardest job in the world for the guys.”
