from www.dailynews.com – A wealthy Dallas socialite has been arrested for selling child porn from her home for over 12 years, the FBI said Friday.
FBI agents found graphic images of adults sexually abusing children at the $1.4 million mansion of Erika Susan Perdue in April, according to KDFW.
The 41-year-old allegedly collected so many pictures and videos that she couldn’t remember where they all came from, court documents state.
The FBI first learned about Perdue in January, when undercover agents found her downloading and sharing images and video of adults engaging in sexual acts with children under the username, “Classyb****,” WFAA reports.
The Dallas housewife, whose home is located across the street from a playground, has been trading child porn during the day since 1999 while her husband works as an attorney, according to the FBI.
It is unclear if Perdue was making money off these alleged activities. She has been charged with four counts of sending, receiving and possessing child pornography.
Catherine Smit-Torrez, a child advocate who has spent more than 20 years investigating abuse cases, said it’s very unusual for women to be arrested for peddling child porn.
“Women don’t have as much interest in child pornography,” Smit-Torres told WFAA. “Generally, we don’t see a lot of that.”
In 2011, a Maine mom was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually abusing her 2-year-old daughter during a video-chat with a teenager in England.
Julie Carr pleaded guilty to pornography charges in federal court in 2010. The 33-year-old’s lawyer argued that she was “conned” into performing the sexual acts, according to court documents.
“I am sorry,” Carr said during her sentencing. “I never meant to hurt anyone in my family. I regret it.”
