from www.laist.com – 55-year-old John Haig Marshall of Redondo Beach may have once been a great drinking buddy, but he turned out to be no friend to his 29-year-old pal who says Marshall drugged him, raped him, then shaved off his body hair in the shower, according to KTLA.

Marshall “was arrested on New Year’s Day on a felony charge of penetration with a foreign object while using a drug.” His former friend says Marshall, once a reserve police officer, had the friend over under the guise of needed help fixing his computer. Then the drink came, followed by the sexual and shaving encounter in the shower.

An attorney for Marshall says his client asserts “the shower was consensual and there was no sexual penetration.” Police say Marshall, whom they call the victim’s “drinking buddy,” has been the subject of previous investigations regarding sex, drugs, and teen boys, some of which has been referenced by anonymous tipsters who say Marshall has handed out “quaaludes, cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and alcohol” to his underage buddies.

Marshall is out on bail, and will be arraigned later this month.
