From www.digitalcity.com- Have you ever found yourself stuck in a conversation with an old guy, trying to regale a story about a funny porn he once saw back in the day? If you haven’t, consider yourself lucky because it does happen and sometimes the awkwardness cements itself when he starts singing the theme song to Sweet Fish Vaginal Deodorant.
Never heard of it? Well, here’s your chance to be useful in awkward bar conversations because The Cinefamily is showing that classic this Saturday night. The film, Let My Puppets Come, is made by the same guy who made Deep Throat.
The movie is part of a series at The Silent Movie Theater in Los Angeles called: “Holy F**king S**t: That’s F**king”. Every Saturday night in May The Cinefamily presents an odd classic X-rated movie. The Cinefamily is an organization of movie lovers who present interesting and unusual movies, creating a spirit of community in the social movie-going experience.
Dallas Boogie Nights
You know that you’re in for an excellent movie experience If you see this warning: “Due to the age and rarity of these prints, there may be occasional visual and audio imperfections. Thank you for your understanding. All programs subject to change.”
Every last Thursday of the month, the Dallas Cinemania Film Society shows cult and genre movies from the 60’s to the 80’s in 35mm. This month they’re showing Shogun Assassin at the Angelika Movie Theater in Dallas, Tex. In June they’re showing the Italian X-rated movie, Paranoia aka Orgasmo.
Jersey Grindhouse
There is a place where you can see the movies that inspired Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. A couple of years ago, The Baronet Theater in Asbury Park, New Jersey was showing grindhouse movies from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Then, it closed, slated for demolition.
But now its back showing great movies. It’s located between the beach and a rock n’ roll bowling alley. Check the Web site for updates. Also — not too far away, in Long Branch, New Jersey, Splatterhouse shows the same genre of film.
