The Stars Were Shining At The 2008 F.A.M.E. Awards

LOS ANGELES —The fans have spoken! And on Saturday, June 7th at Erotica LA, a star-studded who’s who of adult entertainment got to hear what they said at the 2008 F.A.M.E. (Fans of Adult Media & Entertainment) Awards.

Following a packed red carpet, adult superstars Jesse Jane and Randy Spears hosted the third annual event.

The blonde Digital Playground superstar and the Wicked Pictures legend worked like a dynamic duo, keeping things moving and entertaining the crowd. Jesse’s energy and Randy’s delivery helped usher in a list of presenters that included Tera Patrick, Stormy Daniels, Belladonna, Sasha Grey, Evan Stone, Ron Jeremy, Michelle Maylene, Evan Seinfeld, Amber Lynn, Nick Manning, Nicki Hunter, Tommy Gunn and more announced read off the names of the nominees and winners to a very receptive crowd.

This year’s F.A.M.E. Awards received over 104,000 online votes at their official website, www.TheFAMEAwards.com

“This is the only truly interactive adult awards event that exists,” explains F.A.M.E. co-founder Dan Davis, Editor in Chief of Genesis Magazine.

“Ultimately, the fans are the ones who buy the product and determine the next big ‘it’ girl or niche. The F.A.M.E. Awards recognize that and provide a forum — from choosing finalists to selecting winners — as a way of honoring that.”

With a number of surprise guests, including mainstream movie stars Jamie Kennedy (Malibu’s Most Wanted) and Matthew Davis (Legally Blonde) who filmed a segment for their upcoming independent film Finding Bliss (which also stars Leelee Sobieski, Kristen Johnson and Denise Richards) on the F.A.M.E. red carpet, with Stormy Daniels, Ron Jeremy, Jesse Jane, Evan Stone, Mr. Marcus, Sasha Grey, Belladonna, Wankus and others, this year’s awards show reached record attendance.

The stars and industry VIPs packed the seats and hundreds of fans and representatives of the media stood around them to witness a show that was indeed bigger and better as it was billed.

The list of those who were in attendance was a virtual a roll call of the adult industry.

The stars who were there also included Tera Patrick, Jessica Drake, Jenna Haze, Eva Angelina, Gina Lynn, Stoya, Shay Jordan, Bobbi Starr, Sunny Leone, Tory Lane, Ashlynn Brooke, Nina Mercedez, Taylor Wane, Justine Joli, Monica Mayhem, Sunny Lane, Joanna Angel, Ava Rose, Marie Luv, Tory Lane, Jenna Haze, Kayden Kross, Ava Rose, and many more, including the first public appearances for new Digital Playground contract girls Riley Steele and Gabriella Fox . Those behind the cameras were also on hand, such as director/producers Jules Jordan, Will Ryder, Cousin Stevie, Eli Cross, Brad Armstrong and Lexington Steele, as well as others who make the adult world go ’round such as AVN’s Paul Fishbein, Vivid’s Steve Hirsch, Wicked’s Steve Orenstein, Digital Playground’s Samantha Lewis, Hustler’s Michael Klein and many more.

One of the new twists to this year’s show was the introduction of the “Fan’s First Look” which is where some of the biggest producers unveiled their trailers for their upcoming blockbusters. Brad Armstrong and Jessica Drake their latest epic Fallen, Jesse Jane gave the Erotica LA crowd a peek at Pirates II, while Tera Patrick and Evan Seinfeld introduced their upcoming all-sex comedy, Tera Goes Gonzo.

Also being shown for the first time were trailers for Vivid’s Cry Wolf starring Mr. Marcus and Monique Alexander; Eli Cross’ slick show for SexZ Pictures entitled ICON, starring Hillary Scott; Will Ryder and X-Play’s surefire hit parody, Not Bewitched XXX which stars Jenna Haze and Teagan Presley; and the Adam & Eve/Zero Tolerance co-production on skates, Roller Dollz. All of these movies will be in under consideration for the 2009 F.A.M.E. Awards.

Paul Fishbein and Michelle Maylene presented Vivid’s Steve Hirsch with a special AVN Award for “Best Renting Title of the Year” for Debbie Does Dallas… Again, as a camera crew captured the action for the second season of Vivid’s reality show. Hirsch reminded everyone why we were all there, and that is to support the world of adult films.

From the first award given out to Ashlynn Brooke for “Favorite Breasts” as voted on by the fans, to the last for their “Favorite Male Star” and “Favorite Female Star” — Evan Stone and Tera Patrick, who also received a Movado watch with a blue diamond and a Tiffany’s pearl necklace — the night was filled with appreciative speeches, lots of fun and laughs, and even some tears of joy from the winners.

Davis summed things up by saying, “We want to thank all of the stars, studios and media who continue to support this huge undertaking every year.
