from www.tokyoreporter.com – In the adult video (AV) industry, the “highly educated female” genre, as in a film starring a gal enrolled in a university, can attract higher sales than titles boasting actresses with large breasts or a shapely rear end.

Given this, Shukan Post (Mar. 2) is not surprised that the blogosphere is buzzing regarding an upcoming release billed to feature a Tokyo University co-ed who is in fact a nursing student at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Medicine.

Due to hit store shelves on March 5 is “現役東○生 AV Debut!!,” starring Mai Yuzuki, who is enrolled in the Human Health Science Department. Savvy Web users used photos from social media sites, a profile at a deri heru club (that is, an out-call sex establishment), and a high school graduation album to make the correlation.

The company behind the DVD — which was not named but is in fact Waap Entertainment — confirmed that Yuzuki attends Kyoto University. “As to the title, we hesitated to use the name ‘Kyoto University’ to protect her,” says a spokesperson. “We are now considering whether the title will remain since people know it is not accurate.”

Shukan Post says that even though the actress appears to be majoring in nursing science and not targeting a doctoral route, the impact remains big.

In the past, female students from elite universities have appeared in AV films multiple times. Successful titles have been those in which the star conveys a sense of aloofness, a disregard for the risk of being outed, says the tabloid.

“University girls who appear in AV do not do it for financial reasons, but that is what people assume” says AV writer Takehiko Sawaki. “From the start, these types of gals have no concept of what AV is about. So they will believe that nobody will ever see them and figure out their true identities.”

DVD cover for 現役東○生 AV Debut!!Background also plays a role, claims the writer: “These girls are always studying, they are serious, they do not socialize, and AV can be a way to make a change. Therefore, if they get scouted to appear, they might listen.”

Illuminating perhaps but most readers are likely far more concerned with how this concept of reinvention translates onto the screen. For that, dear reader, it is necessary to shift to Shukan Asahi Geino (Mar. 1), which quotes a writer in the industry: “She’s a bit on the small size with a nice bust line,” says the source, who viewed images on the producer’s fan site. “In one scene she exhibits her slender hips while being penetrated from behind, and another includes a real wet blow-job session.”

Dr. Kimihiro Yoneyama, a neurology specialist, tells Shukan Post that hormones are a factor in a woman’s desire for performing in AV.

“Like career women, girls in the ‘highly educated female’ genre live a continuously competitive lifestyle,” says the doctor. “This in turn stimulates the production of the male hormone testosterone. The result is a strong sexual desire. An intelligent woman could conceivably be more her receptive to any kind of sex.”
