TORONTO — from www.edmontonson.com – Ontario’s only gay strip club is allowing women inside its doors for the first time in the establishment’s 16-year history — but only during certain hours.

“It is important that we become part of the community,” said Robby Sorenson, co-owner of Remington’s Men of Steel.

“For many years, women were not allowed inside the club.”

Sorenson changed the female policy when he took over the club last June.

Now, women who want to attend “sinfully delicious Saturdays” or catch any of the 30 male strippers are allowed in after 10 p.m. and during the weekend.

The club features a “humpday Wednesday,” when customers can have a private dance in a booth “to get over the hump day.” There’s even a “studly Thursday” and “frisky Fridays.”

“We are a pretty unique club,” Sorenson said. “We are the only full-time gay strip club in Ontario.”

The club, which boasts the “hottest live males,” was accepted as a member of the Adult Entertainment Association of Canada in a vote last Thursday.

The association represents female strippers from 41 clubs.

“We are trying to protect all people in the adult entertainment industry,” said association spokesman Tim Lambrinos.

“There has never been any complaints by dancers from Remington’s.”

He said the club had to pass an inspection and other checks to become a member.

“The men will be given the same training material that we use for the women,” he said.
