UK’s Porn Twins: Kit and Kat Lee

UK- from www.sunderlandecho.com – From A* students to porn star extroverts. We meet Sunderland’s adult film industry export Kit and Kat Lee.

It’s easy to judge young women like Kit and Kat Lee before you meet them. I admit that I did and, although some of my preconceptions were proved wrong, I came away from our meeting feeling a little bit sadder for it.

The twin models, escorts and adult film stars’ dreams of glamour, champagne and parties seem to amount to, in reality, little more than botched boob jobs and sex with strangers to pay the bills.

When we first met on a Friday morning at Bud Bigalow’s nightclub in the city, the Sunderland-born sisters were tremendously excited that they had finished their first hardcore DVD, called Twinz, which will be entered into this year’s annual Porn Awards.

But after half an hour of talking about the seedier side of the glamour industry, the girls began to open up about the reality of their world, and it soon emerged that they have few friends and their family want nothing to do with them.

As they talked, the identical twins, like many, began and finished each other’s sentences.

“We do regret it,” said Kat. “It’s not going to last forever and we could have had proper jobs.

“We like doing the photo shoots and the acting side of it but we don’t really enjoy the other stuff. We went into it too quickly and said ‘yes’ straight away without thinking.”

The sisters, whose real names are Noor and Zayna Ellemore, grew up in Thorney Close.

They were pupils at Sandhill View School, where they achieved A* GCSEs in Drama and English and went on to get BTECs in Performing arts at South Tyneside College.

Clearly the 23-year-olds have always done everything together but in their new career they have taken that to the extreme.

They had arrived for the interview wearing matching outfits which hung loosely from their tiny frames, their high-heeled shoes fell off their feet and their chipped nail polish was anything but sexy.

Their path into the adult film industry began when they were just 18 and the model agency they were signed to sent them on their first job.
Naivety and rose-tinted glasses seems to be what enticed them onto the top shelf.

“It was for Razzle (an adult magazine]. We didn’t even know what the magazine was for and thought it would just be a normal shoot,” said Kat. “Then the photographer asked us to take our skirts and knickers off.

“We looked at each other and we were thinking ‘should we do it or not?’ We just ended up doing the full shoot.”

The same photographer told the pair that if they went into pornographic films they would be the only British twins in the industry… and they would make a fortune.

“He said we would be really big in America,” the girls explained. “That’s how it started. We signed to Bluebird (an adult movie production company) three years ago.

“They promised us breast implants, cars and apartments. We both thought that would be really good and we both wanted that lifestyle.”

They have now had breast implants twice and they have the scars to prove it. Yet they are considering a third operation because they want to return to a more natural look.

The twins had no experience before they entered the industry and told me that they were extremely nervous before they did their first scene.

Alarmingly their family had no idea what they were up to. At 19 they had headed to Lancaster University to study drama and creative writing with the aim of becoming teachers.

But it wasn’t long before the Razzle magazine shoot caught up with them and, after just a year as students, they left.

Said Kit: “Everyone had the magazine. The man in the corner shop was selling them and he had to order lots in because he was telling all the students that we were in it.

“We dropped out in the end and moved to London. We had started working for Bluebird so we were missing lectures and not getting assignments handed in.”

Their family believed they had moved to the capital and were working in promotions. That was until just over a year ago, when the twins decided to unveil their secret on the Jeremy Kyle Show.

“We were just bored one day and decided to text the show. They called us straight back and we went on with our gran Pat.”

Kat added: “They make it look worse than it is. They keep you in separate rooms and tell you what the other person has been saying, so when you get on stage you start fighting.

“They do try to help you out but they just want to get a good show out of you.”

Since the show the twins have had a hectic year both professionally – they have done several kiss-and-tells for the tabloids, including Mario Marconi from Big Brother 9 – and personally.

Their career path led them to be estranged from their family and their gran was the only one speaking to them.

“She (their mum] talks to us sometimes but we can tell she is really disappointed,” said Kat.

“It’s horrible because we used to be really close and have girly nights in and stuff, so it’s hard.”

Tragically, their gran died not long after appearing on the show with the girls.

“She found out she had lung cancer,” said Kat. “We were closer to our gran than the rest of our family so it was horrible when she died.

“We came down to see her when she only had a day or so left.

“We didn’t want to cause a scene at the funeral so we just sent a nice bunch of flowers.”

After a year with Bluebird their career took a darker turn and they began working as escorts. I wondered if, as is the case for many in the adult film industry, they had been tempted by drugs and if so, was it a habit they needed to pay for?

But both girls insist that they are anti-drugs.

“A lot of the girls use drugs but we don’t,” said Kit. “We have never, ever touched the stuff.”

The girls come from a Muslim background. Their father, from Jordan, passed away before he realised the twins were doing pornography.

The rest of the family have had to suffer the consequences of the twins’ chosen career path.

“We would like to say we’re sorry and really miss them all. As long as we’re safe they should be able to accept what we do,” plead the girls.

“We used to be a really close family before, like Christmas and stuff was really big. We all used to go to our nana’s and open our presents but we’re not welcome now. It’s too much trouble.

“We should have told our family before we went on Jeremy Kyle or did a kiss-and-tell.”

Surprisingly they both hope to lead a normal life once their career in the industry is over. Kit currently has a boyfriend and both girls aspire to marriage and children. They are also looking to open up their own tanning shop.

Despite denying that they are embarrassed by what they do, they are in agreement that they would keep their hardcore career a secret from their children.

They said: “We would stop once we were married with kids and probably move abroad.

“We would hide it from them at first but they would find out eventually.”

The pair have now come full circle and will be appearing on The Jeremy Kyle Show again this month. Despite their constant craving for publicity, they insist they have a long-term goal to be successful outside the porn industry.

“We think of ourselves as business women. We have our website and we have designed our own underwear range.

“We know what we do now won’t last forever. We slipped into it and now we’re in it we can’t come out.

“When people said you can have all this stuff, instead of trying to do a normal job and get it ourselves, we just took the easy way.

‘They were so quiet when they were growing up’THE girls’ secret lives were devastating for their family when it came out so publicly.

Their mum, Donna Ellemore, who lives in Sunderland, told the Echo she was embarrassed to go out of her own house.

“They don’t feel like my daughters any more,” she said. “They have shamed the family.

“They are just selfish, the both of them.

“I was so proud of them going to university.

“I had sent them to drama school and made sure they had everything they needed.

“I didn’t even know they had moved to London until other people told me.
“I was really close with my daughters.

“They were always at home and they loved acting. They were so quiet when they were growing up.

“You bring your children up to be proud of them and then they go and do this – it’s absolutely disgusting.

“They don’t realise that the stuff they do in the paper everybody sees and says ‘your daughters were in the paper again’.

“I would like them to stop because it’s really upsetting for the family.”
