Adult Time has launched its first virtual reality studio brand, Up Close VR, with Avery Black serving as its first VR director. Black brings a philosophy focused on authenticity and natural experiences to her VR shooting days.
Up Close VR Debuts
Adult Time launched its first virtual reality studio brand, Up Close VR, on December 28, 2023. The debut scene featured Natalie Brooks with Oliver Davis. This launch marked Adult Time's first production of its own exclusive VR content, following a period of offering VR content through channel partnerships.
Frank Stacy, Adult Timeβs Director of Marketing, stated that the company had been offering VR content through channel partnerships for close to a year but had not produced its own exclusive content until this launch. Stacy also noted the collaboration with adult performer Avery Black as a producer for this project.
The inaugural episode of Up Close VR, featuring Natalie Brooks alongside Oliver Davis, combines the female pleasure-focused theme and eye contact element of the original Up Close series with 6K 60FPS VR 180 video streaming quality. The scene is streaming on GetUpClose.com. Up Close VR follows the same unscripted narrative as the original series, which is described as unscripted, voyeuristic, and celebrating female pleasure.
By February, Adult Time plans to release four original VR episodes per month, covering a variety of genres and themes. In addition to its own productions, Adult Time will feature content from studios such as VR Bangers, Lethal Hardcore, SwallowBay, VirtualRealPorn, RealHotVR, and RealityLovers.
As of March 13, Up Close VR boasted five immersive episodes, featuring Natalie Brooks, Aubree Valentine, Chanel Camryn, Cali Sweets, and Lulu Chu. Frank Stacy commented that using the Up Close brand for original VR content production seemed like a natural fit, as the studio is about experiencing performers in a new unique fashion, and creating VR episodes felt like a good way to connect users and their favorite performers.
Avery Black's Directorial Approach
Avery Black, a native of Oakland, California, serves as the first VR director for Adult Time, piloting the Up Close VR series. Black's philosophy for VR shooting days is to make the VR experience as authentic and natural as possible. She draws upon her years of experience as a performer and cam girl in this new venture.
Black acknowledges the logistical challenges of VR, noting that shooting days can be sterile and long due to extensive setup for each position. However, she has developed her own shooting methods with the freedom provided by Adult Time. Black has been trying to shoot a "gonzo experience" for VR, which involves less setup for every single position and more focus on allowing the female talent to provide the viewer with an authentic experience of having sex with the actual performer.
Black was preparing to shoot Adult Time brand ambassadors Leana Lovings and Isiah Maxwell for Up Close VR. Black has amassed more than 270 credits since her mainstream porn debut in 2019. Prior to working with Adult Time on UpCloseVR, Black also worked as an Intimacy Coordinator for other adult companies.
