from www.latimes.com – Law enforcement authorities are investigating a sex website, Adult Friend Finder, which had an account of a person who resembled Colorado movie-theater shooting suspect James E. Holmes.

The person with the account had dyed red hair and long sideburns — like Holmes — and claimed to live in the same town as the suspect, Aurora, Colo. A spokeswoman for the website declined to say whether the account belonged to Holmes.

“AdultFriendFinder.com values the privacy of its members and subscribers and does not disclose or confirm the status of any individuals on our website. AdultFriendFinder.com does respond to law enforcement inquiries as may be required by law,” Lindsay Trivento, director of corporate communications for FriendFinder Networks Inc. in Boca Raton, Fla., said in a statement Monday morning.

The account holder called himself “classicjimbo.” He described himself as straight, single and looking for women, couples and groups interested in “erotic chat” or a discreet relationship. The profile included three pictures of the account holder, both of which looked extremely similar to Holmes when he appeared in court on Monday morning. In one, an image of the red-haired man appeared to have been pasted electronically next to a picture of a woman.

The Adult Friend Finder profile, which has since been removed from the website, began with this eerie comment: “Will you visit me in prison?”

The account appeared to have been created on July 5 and was last visited within three days of the shooting. “Classicjimbo” described himself as a “light/social” drinker with an athletic body type. It stated that he had attended “some grad school.”

The birth date and height listed on the profile did not match those of James E. Holmes, although they were only slightly off. The birthday was listed as Dec. 10, 1987. Holmes was born on Dec. 13, 1987. The height was listed as 6-foot. Holmes apparently is slightly taller.

While on the site, “classicjimbo” “friended” six women, all from Colorado, and joined a group called the “Aurora Meet and Greet Gang.” One of the women, a 25-year-old from Denver, said the she had been contacted by “classicjimbo” in recent weeks but had never met him in person.

“He sent a few messages that I never really responded to,” said the woman, who asked not to be identified.

Even the least bashful among the women were taken aback when word spread that Holmes may have been a member. Many were thankful to hear his profile had been removed.

“Please do not take it personally if I am hesitant to talk to anyone. I just found out that someone I friended on this site shot 71 people,” a Fort Collins woman stated on her profile.
