from www.mercurynews.com – A 32-year-old Northern Califoria dance instructor has been sentenced to two months in jail and three years on probation for having sex with a boy half her age.

A Calaveras County judge imposed the sentence Monday on Sarah May after a court hearing in which her 16-year-old student said the sex was consensual and that the June encounter had not affected him negatively.

May, owner of the Satori Jazz Dance Company in Murphys, pleaded no contest to one felony count of having sex with a minor as part of a deal with prosecutors.

Her probation terms prohibit her from teaching boys between the ages 10 through 17 without another adult over age 25 present unless their parents have signed a release saying they were notified of her conviction.
