from www.theindychannel.com – WASHINGTON, Ind. — A man who claimed he didn’t know the woman he was having sex with was dead says he shouldn’t be charged, but investigators say video evidence shows otherwise.
Richard Sanden, 55, of Geneva, Ohio, appeared in a Daviess County courtroom on Thursday to face several charges, including abuse of a corpse.
Sanden told police that he drank, did drugs and had sex with the 48-year-old woman who he met through a dating chat line over the weekend, but later realized she wasn’t breathing and called police.
When police searched an apartment, they said they found a video camera that showed Sanden having sex with the woman and that she appeared to be dead.
The woman’s cause of death wasn’t immediately determined. Sanden was being held Thursday in the Daviess County Jail on $500,000 bond.
