from www.people.com – The body of a murdered Las Vegas showgirl was dismembered and packed into multiple cement-filled tubs, according to a report.
The grisly discovery of Debbie Flores-Narvaez’s remains was made in a downtown Las Vegas home Friday after police received a tip via a tipline.
Police arrested Flores-Narvaez’s former boyfriend Jason “Blu” Griffith, 32, early Saturday morning for the slaying. A probable cause hearing is set for Wednesday in justice court, court records indicate.
Though he was never formally named a suspect, Griffith had been the center of the disappearance investigation since Flores-Narvaez vanished without a trace after she was last seen visiting his home nearly a month ago.
Police later discovered that Griffith purchased cement and rented a U-Haul moving truck shortly after her visit to his home on Dec. 12, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. The U-Haul’s global positioning tracking device allowed detectives to reconstruct Griffith’s movements, leading them to the downtown house where they found Flores-Narvaez’s remains encased in cement.
The couple had been known to have a tumultuous relationship – Griffith was arrested following a domestic dispute with Flores-Narvaez last October. Prior to her disappearance, Flores-Narvaez sent an ominous text to her mother. “In case there is ever an emergency with me, contact Blu Griffith in Vegas,” the text sent on Dec. 1 read. “My ex-boyfriend. Not my best friend.”
A motive for the slaying is still unknown.
Flores-Narvaez danced in Luxor’s Fantasy show and worked in several of Las Vegas’s top nightclubs after following her dream to be a trained dancer. She previously studied law and business, her family said, and she was also a cheerleading ambassador for the Washington Redskins football team.
A call to Griffith’s attorney was not immediately returned.
