LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas — Veteran promoter JayMan passed away earlier this month at 50 in his Arkansas home, industry friends report.
The Ohio-born JayMan passed away on Oct, 16, reportedly due to congestive heart failure after battling a prolonged illness.
Industry veteran Jason Tucker shared, “JayMan played a pivotal role in transitioning the solo model and ‘girl next door’ concept from magazines to paysites. He possessed an innate talent for discovering new talent. Despite his wild and adventurous lifestyle, he consistently delivered results in those early days. I hope that, despite his struggles, he has found peace.”
Longtime friend and colleague Colin Rowntree added, “For those who were part of the industry during the era of Raven Riley, 3xTom, and Liz Viscious, JayMan will be remembered as the spontaneous and dynamic promoter who emerged from Dayton, Ohio, helping to establish the first multi-million dollar ‘girl next door’ empire alongside 3XTom. Always a source of humor and color at trade shows, I cherish many great memories of him, as well as a plethora of unique anecdotes from our collaborations during Raven Riley feature film shoots in Ohio.”
“Over 20 years ago on a random small industry message board I posted questions that everyone said were obvious and that I should already know,” Paxum’s Chris Youngs offered. “JayMan private-messaged me and told me to message him on ICQ. He spent countless hours answering my questions without hesitation. I’m not sure where I would be without the guidance he was more than willing to give me. I will forever celebrate his life.”
