> from Shelley Lubben's MySpace page: Nashville & New York - Pure Life Revolution, Girls Against Porn, with the national support of Morality in Media and American Mothers Inc., announce the launch of the annual and national WRAP (White Ribbons Against Pornography) campaign in Tennessee to be held the week of October 28-November 4, 2007.
For its kickoff in Nashville, Pure Life Revolution & Girls Against Porn have organized the 1st Porn-NO Prayer Summit to be held at the Tennessee State Capitol, Legislative Plaza on November 3rd, from 1-3 p.m., with a Porn-NO Rally to follow at 7 p.m. at the Fortress of Hope, both featuring x-porn star, Shelley Lubben. The Prayer Summit will include the following speakers: Family Action Council of Tennessee President & Founder & former Tennessee State Senator, David Fowler, Senator Diane Black, Representative Susan Lynn, President of Encounters Network, James Goll, Randy Uselton of Bott Radio, Sarah Lowe of The National Day of Prayer & many others.
The event is expected to pull in as many as 1,000 people, possibly more. Many people (men and women) and increasingly more people of faith, are succumbing to the allure and deception of porn, many others are coming to realize that our nation is facing a serious moral crisis and pornography is fueling it.
The WRAP campaign began in 1987. It is intended to educate the public about the extent of the porn problem internationally, that is increasingly becoming more of an epidemic in the faith community and among Christian males and females, in congregations and ministries. We also, want to let everyone know what can constitutionally be done about it. We are aiming to reeve up the fight and make this a year long fight as it is on-going. We encourage other groups, churches, and organizations to organize activities or get involved in WRAP by doing the following:
· Attend the Porn-NO Prayer Summit at the State Capitol in Nashville on November 3rd, to pray for those involved in pornography, purity in our nation, proclaim purity with governmental leaders, and hear testimonies from an x-porn star & leaders, along with petition signing.
· Wear white ribbons (White ribbons can be ordered at www.wrapfamily.com)
· Complain to your US Attorney and state prosecutors about porn
· Ask city, state, and country legislators to curb sexually oriented businesses
· Make complaints/boycott businesses that distribute or advertise porn or that support pornography companies and magazines
· Write letters to editors of magazines or hotels who offer porn on their hotel room TVs
· Invite an anti-porn crusader to speak on the Sundays of WRAP week at your church, about the destruction that it causes individuals & families
· Get educated on the harmful effects to individuals who view porn and the detrimental effects on families, and how it destructively changes people
· Ask your pastor/ministry leaders to address porn as a spiritual problem in a sermon
· Support those who are on the front lines of fighting porn and obscenity
Morality in Media, Pure Life Revolution, and Girls Against Porn recognize that pornography is a destructor of families and lives, and that porn can be linked to violent crimes and human trafficking. It is now affecting more and more pastors and men of faith more than ever and women are now viewing porn in staggering numbers. We are calling on community organizations, ministries, law makers, churches, and moral organizations to rise up and stand for morality and purity.
We also encourage individuals to commend legislators who strengthen obscenity laws and retailers who have removed pornographic materials from their stores. We will be working to involve as many organizations and churches as possible. If your organization/ministry would like to help, if you are media who would like to broadcast from the Summit, would like to know more, or book an interview with the founders, please contact us at the number above, or via our MySpace page.
