LOS ANGELES – from www.ktla.com – — A new lingerie store set to open next week on trendy Melrose Avenue is causing controversy because of its name.
The store, which calls itself a ‘Lingerie-Love Shop,’ is named, FUK U.
Some neighbors who want the sign removed say it’s inappropriate and located too close to an elementary school and high school.
“That’s not cool. I know if I had kids going to Fairfax I would be real offended,” one shopper on Melrose told KTLA.
“Just because it’s not spelled the same it still means the same thing,” another shopper said.
Store owners refused to comment but say they will talk to the media next week when the store opens.
