Recent incidents across the United States have seen women arrested in connection with alleged sexual activity or drug possession in vehicles, often with children present. These cases span multiple states and involve various charges, from criminal sexual conduct to child neglect and drug possession.
Incidents Involving Minors
In Lake City, South Carolina, 26-year-old Aladrian Chandler was arrested on a Monday morning following an alleged sexual encounter with a 14-year-old boy. The incident reportedly occurred last month in a car while her three children were present. Chandler faces charges of second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor. According to a police report, Chandler acknowledged the encounter but denied having intercourse. She stated that she believed the boy was older than he told her. The teen informed officers that he met Chandler when she was delivering food, and they subsequently exchanged phone numbers and began texting. The alleged incident took place on November 16. Police initiated an investigation on November 18 after Chandler reported that a gun had been stolen from her car. During the investigation, Chandler provided officers with a written statement claiming the boy took the gun from her car when she went to a friendโs house to discuss his communication with her. As of Monday afternoon, Chandler remained in the Florence County Detention Center.
Another case in San Antonio, Texas, involved the Bexar County Sheriff's Office arresting 36-year-old Jasmine Garcia DeJesus. Deputies reportedly found DeJesus allegedly having sex with a 13-year-old in the back seat of a car on a Sunday evening. Deputies stopped to investigate what they described as a suspicious vehicle with two people inside. Paul Berry, a Bexar County Sheriff's Office Spokesperson, stated that once detectives arrived and began questioning, it became clear the woman was 36 and the young man was 13. The boy admitted that the alleged incident was not the first time the two were together, according to the sheriff's office. Jasmine Garcia DeJesus is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and is being held on a $75,000 bond. Child Protective Services is also investigating this incident.
Drug-Related Arrests
In Springfield, Ohio, police arrested 24-year-old Danica Wallace, of Marysville, after officers reported catching her engaged in sexual activity with a man in the front seat of a car. Wallace's 3-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter were in the car's back seat, police said. Officers also reported finding open beer bottles and marijuana in the car. Police stated that Wallace failed a sobriety test.
Separately, in Miami, Florida, Neisha Puentes, 31, was arrested on a Monday. Authorities stated that an officer arrived at 1320 NW 12th Street following reports of a person sleeping in a vehicle. The officer found Puentes inside the vehicle, and upon waking her, she stated she fell asleep due to exhaustion. The officer called fire rescue to assist. As Puentes exited the car and began caring for her child, the officer reportedly observed a crack pipe with cocaine residue and several baggies that appeared to have cocaine on the front passenger-side floorboard.
