from www.kcrg.com – A North Liberty woman faces drug charges after a deputy found a marijuana-filled container inside her vagina.
Denaya N. Humphreys, 32, of 667 Andy Ct., North Liberty, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of contraband in a correctional facility and operating while intoxicated.
During a traffic stop Thursday evening at 832 Crosspark Ave., Iowa City police noticed the driver, Humphreys, had bloodshot and watery eyes, the criminal complaint states.
The passenger told police he had marijuana on him and had shared a joint with Humphreys immediately before police pulled over the car, police reported. A drug test confirmed Humphreys was under the influence of marijuana, police said.
When Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies booked Humphreys into the jail, one deputy found a small metal cannister inside her vagina, police reported. Iowa City police opened the cannister and found a small bud of marijuana inside, they reported.
Possession of contraband in a correctional facility is a Class D felony, which carries a maximum five years in prison and $7,500 fine.
Humphreys was being held in the jail on $8,000 cash bond.
