Indiana – At the end of Porn Boulevard is a dead end, said Craig Gross, co-founder of XXXChurch.com.

More than 900 community members heard his message at Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood on Sunday as a conclusion to the high school ministry’s annual purity retreat.

Gross and fellow youth pastor Mike Foster created the Web site three years ago to combat pornography using their faith. Dubbed as the No. 1 Christian porn site, XXXChurch.com has received 50 million hits since its inception.

XXXChurch.com is a Web site offering help for porn addicts, providing biblical answers to curb their addiction.

“(Mike and I) haven’t removed ourselves from our mission,” Gross said. “We are involved with our project every single day. Our inboxes are full with people needing help every day.”

Gross said he felt called by God to do something about the problems an addiction to pornography can cause people and their loved ones.

He and Foster started their journey witnessing at a Las Vegas porn convention in 2002. Now their ministry includes the Web site, a self-help book called “Questions You Can’t Ask Your Mama” and an MTV documentary, “Missionary Positions,” which will be released in the fall.

XXXChurch.com also has a downloadable X3Watch feature. X3Watch forces accountability by tracking every site a user visits on the Internet and sending a report to a close friend or spouse every two weeks, Gross said.

“The Internet can break up a home,” Gross said. “It can hurt a family and children’s lives. If it’s ruining your life, you need a break.”

Forty percent of the site’s visitors are women, said youth leader Cheryl Huizinga of Greenwood.

“Pornography cheapens gifts from God,” Mount Pleasant’s high school youth pastor Steve Meyers said. “We need to discuss this as a church and speak in a way kids can listen to. This makes the Web site practical and relevant.”
