WWW- The spotlight might be too hot for Mark Foley right now, but that wasn’t always the case.

Before the congressman resigned for sending inappropriate E-mails to an underage House page, the disgraced Florida Republican had a role in an action movie that wasn’t much of a stretch: He played a politician.

Foley can be spotted as Congressman Fairchild in the high-adrenaline, low-budget flick “Strike Force” – released straight to DVD.

“When the part was written, it was written with Mark in mind,” producer Greg Hauptner told us. “I suppose it could have been a wealthy businessman, but we went after Mark specifically.” Apparently the politico had some latent acting chops, completing his part in one day. “He was what we call a ‘day player,’ ” said Hauptner. “The part wasn’t really demanding.

“People used to call him ‘Media Mark’ – anything going on, you’d find Mark there. I called him up and he said yes, and that was it.”

Indeed, nuanced emotional turns abound in Foley’s “Strike Force” scene, according to a script RadarOnline uncovered.

Foley’s character emerges from a black stretch limo to be reunited with his kidnapped daughter on a wooded road.

FOLEY: [Eyes clenched] “Oh, I missed you too, baby.”

GIRL: “There were a lot of bad men.”

FOLEY: “I know, baby, but it’s all over now [deep sigh]. God, I love you.”

GIRL: “I love you too, Daddy.”

While the former Florida rep couldn’t be reached for a sample monologue, a spokesman for the 16th District burst into guffaws when asked about the film. “Have you seen it?” he asked.

Perhaps Foley should have kept his day job.
