Amanda Margaret “Mandy” Jensen, 53, of Panama City Beach, Fla., died Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, in Panama City Beach, Fla. She was born Dec. 22, 1956, in Andalusia, Ala.
Adventurous and free-spirited, Mandy had a passion for trying new things. Her artistry and creativity were revealed in her writing, music, her home decor, designing and making jewelry and clothes. She loved cooking, flower gardening and creating an atmosphere of comfort and welcome in her home.
Mandy had an overwhelming love for her family, friends and animals, and a compassionate and generous heart. Her compassion extended to family, friends and people who were in need. Mandy was especially known for her gift of “healing hands” therapy, which provided pain relief to so many. Her bright light will shine forever in our hearts.
Survivors include her husband, Derrick Jensen; son, Davis Jensen; mother, Margaret Shelley; father, Joe Breck Gantt and wife, Anne; sister, Gretchen Franco; niece, Alexis Franco; and many cousins and friends.
Visitation with the family will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, followed by a memorial service at 11:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Andalusia with the Rev. Tim Trent presiding.
