BRIDGEPORT – from www.news12.com – YouTube is responding after some Bridgeport parents complained that a video apparently showing the sexual abuse of a child has been repeated posted on the video service.
Lakesha Stines says she has reported the video over and over again, but every time it’s taken down, someone reposts it.
The company issued a statement today saying, “YouTube has a zero-tolerance policy on child sexual abuse images. When we become aware of such content, we immediately remove and report it to the appropriate authorities, and terminate the account of the uploader. Our systems are designed so that once a video that violates our policies is removed, identical copies cannot be reuploaded.”
Sen. Richard Blumenthal [pictured] says he plans to start a federal investigation and is pushing for screenings that would keep videos like this from being posted.
