Clyde DeWitt [pictured] comments: As you may know, at my office in Las Vegas I am “of counsel” to a law firm, Cristalli & Saggese, a small firm that handles primarily criminal defense matters, often high-profile.

Last year, a crew of people from a production company spent a month there (color-corrected lighting, wires and all) filming a reality pilot about the firm. The production company couldn’t sell it; but they were persuaded to write a drama about the firm and its activities.
There were writers out there for weeks interviewing everyone there, including me. I was floored a month ago to find out that CBS bought the series; it will be on CBS in the fall at 10:00 PM Wednesdays. What was incredible was that there is a character in the show named “Clyde,” a porn lawyer.
In the first episode, the plot is a spell-binding murder case that Cristalli & Saggese’s characters, played by Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell, respectively, are defending. In some kind of side plot (I haven’t seen the show yet), “Clyde” the porn lawyer, complete with his hat and gray hair, shows up somewhere with some porn star.
The trailer for the first episode is here:

“Clyde” is played by Bruce Jarchow, a fellow Chicagoan who is almost exactly my age (3 months older):

The writers seemed intrigued enough with me (or at least my vocation) that I expect to be a continuing sub-plot if the series survives.
I think that the whole thing’s amusing.
