Porn Valley- John Bowen’s back in town from Brazil, and he’ll be here in Porn Valley about four weeks. His last trip was terrific, said Bowen who’s now got twins under contract.

Bowen said he also got a couple of phone calls while down there about porn sites talking shit about him. Bowen laughs it off. “What is it with these people?”

Bowen says, fuck it. “All I’m trying to do is make movies.” Bowen, who’s doing domestic distribution in Brazil, sees the country as the new land of opportunity, comparing it to Valley porn of about 20 years ago. Ironically, Bowen says he’s doing exactly what Vivid did 20 years ago when he thought they were wrong. “I’m getting all the best girls. I’m paying them more money than anyone else. I’m getting the reputation for paying high prices for girls. I’m getting fabulous girls standing in line looking for contracts. It’s not that clever. It’s that I’ve seen someone else do it.”

As he’s expressed in past interviews, Bowen is positively enamored with the work ethic in Brazil. “It becomes impossible to work in America any more,” he says. “Because you work with people who are happy to work and thank you for a day’s work. These are people happy to get paid and don’t bitch and complain. You don’t hear anything about how they would do this, but their boyfriend asked them not to do it.”

Bowen said he got a call from a reporter from the French equivalent of AP wanting to do a Brazil spin on the HIV story.
